10 minutes of Portal 2 from PAX East 2011

first_imgOne of the most widely anticipated games of 2011 is the next entry in the Portal series: Portal 2. Valve have certainly been teasing us with reminders it is coming in the form of a Valentine’s Day gift buyer’s guide last month, and video footage of it being played last year in both single-player and co-op form. The wait is nearly over, though, with the official release date set as April 21. Console gamers as well as PC and Mac owners will all get to play it on the same day. However, PC gamers will have an extra feature in the form of the ability to generate their own content for the game. For now, sit back and enjoy this 10 minute video which shows you the first few minutes of the game and introduces new character Cave Johnson, CEO of Aperture Science who is sure to add something different to the experience. The footage was shown at the recent PAX East 2011 event in Boston. It demonstrates a clear leap forward in the graphics being used in the game, and no doubt has evolved the mechanics beyond what the original offered.I was actually in two minds about watching this, as it does form a bit of a spoiler for the start of the game. But it really doesn’t give too much away and has a very funny moment where you are asked to respond by saying “yes” that is worth watching.Read more at Piki Geeklast_img
