Chelsea v Spurs: ‘If we win, it might put doubt in their minds for the title’

first_imgHarry Kane believes Tottenham could land a psychological blow on title rivals Chelsea by beating them in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final clash.Spurs are now within four points of the Premier League leaders after they thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 over the weekend and Chelsea fell to a 2-0 defeat at Manchester United. The top two will now meet in the FA Cup on Saturday and Kane says a win for his side could have a damaging effect on their rivals in the battle for the championship. The star striker said: “It could be a big thing psychologically. It’s a different competition so it’s difficult to say. But it’s a big game for us, a big game for the club, a massive semi-final.“You never know, if we can win, it might put a bit more doubt in their minds for the Premier League.”Spurs have won seven league consecutive games – scoring 22 goals in the process – to pile the pressure on Chelsea. And Kane, who hit his 20th league goal of the campaign against Bournemouth, has warned his side are unlikely to drop their level in the final six matches.“Every game we go into we’re confident,” he said.“We’re ruthless at the minute, whenever we score one we seem to get that second. Here the third just after half-time killed the game.“It’s important to keep doing that. We’ve got some tough games coming up in the last six with Crystal Palace away, Arsenal and Manchester United.“But we’re feeling as confident as we ever have done. We’re moving in the right direction we’ve just got to try and win as many as we can going in.“We’ve got make sure we keep going. It’s not over yet.” Harry Kane celebrates scoring for Tottenham against Bournemouth 1last_img
