first_imgWest Indies all-rounder, Keemo Paul made a return to training yesterday ahead of the upcoming West Indies tour to England. Paul, 22, joined West Indies’ coach, Rayon Griffith at the National Stadium in an early morning session at the National Stadium, Providence to practice spot bowling followed by  light catching practice.Both player and coach were expected to follow the new regulations of social distancing and ball handing amidst the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.In a video message, Paul described the session as “excellent” and expressed “it is great to be back” while noting his body is feeling good. Paul, along with Berbice-duo, Shimron Hetmyer and Veerasammy Permaul are among the 30 players selected in the provisional squad, which is expected to be trimmed to around 25 for the tour.West Indies are scheduled to tour England for three Tests from July 8 and are expected to depart on June 8. Due to the pandemic, the matches are set to be played in a bio-secure venue while players will first be subjected to a COVID-19 test and 14-day quarantine.Recently, Test captain Jason Holder along with several Barbados Test players including, Kemar Roach, Kraigg Brathwaite, Shai Hope, Kemar Roach, Shane Dowrich, Shamarh Brooks and Raymon Reifer were returned to training at the Kensington Oval under the guidance of West Indies coach Roddy Estwick and several others from the Barbados Cricket Association.last_img
